FIRST Robotics Competition 2010 Challenge "BREAKAWAY"
Who is Team 573?
Team 573 has students from two schools, the all male Brother Rice High School and the all female Marian High School. Marian and Brother Rice High Schools are both located near the corner of 15 Mile and Lahser Road in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The two schools share a founding purpose based around promoting ideas of strong values, strong morals and strong character as well celebrating academic achievement. Students from both the private schools found the Gracious Professionalism of FIRST a great extension to practice these ideals in a real world business model. The communities from both schools embrace academic achievement and celebrate in the successes of its FIRST team. Brother Rice High School even gave all of the students the day off in celebration of Team 573's 2007 Great Lakes Regional win. The school equated Team 573's win to an athletic sport team win. The school typically only does this when an athletic team wins a state title.
Recognized "Varsity Sport of the Mind"
Brother Rice High School further recognizes the importance of the robotics team's efforts by giving the team classroom space and even considers robotics a varsity sport and awards all the team members from both schools Varsity Letters.

- A current MechWarrior student team member was so inspired by the experience he gained from designing the websites for his FRC team 573 that he started a website design and hosting business in Nov of 2008. He urges his website design business clients to support FRC teams local to their area. He offers them website design and redesign discounts once they begin their support. This same Team 573 team member has placed a Mech Warriors First Robotics banner on his own personal website that he started in 2006 which links people that visit his website to TEAM573.com's "get Involved in First Robotics" page (web log shows several hundred link overs have occured this past year).
