Spectators Attending FRC Events

Q. What should I expect?

A. You should expect to have fun. The energy and excitement level at the FIRST Robotics Competitions is at levels meeting or exceeding that of college basketball games.

Q. Robots competing against each other, does this mean parts will be flying?

A. The robots do get banged around a bit. Generally parts land within the competition area. This is why no one should ever be within the main competition area without proper safety goggles. There will be volunteers to help ensure this safety rule is followed.

Goggles On!
Goggles On Safety First

Q. Where do the robots go between matches?

A. The robots are escorted by their team to the "Pit" area. The pit area is where teams can make adjustments to their robots and secure parts that may have come loose during the Match. Strick safety protocol should be followed by everyone entering the "pit" area. Some events allow spectators to visit their favorite teams in the pit. Please remember that safety goggles must be worn by all at all times in the pit. If you are a spectator with a very young child please keep in mind that this area has a lot of activity. Visiting the pit with a toddler or very young child should be reconsidered.

The Events are fast moving and filled with positive energy. All events are free to spectators. If you have never gone to an FRC event before we urge you to attend one. You will leave energized and excited about what young people can accomplish .
